Hoy, junto con el inicio de un mes tan importante para el piragüismo como es marzo, nuestros palistas han comenzado la temporada competitiva de este 2015 acudiendo al Campeonato Provincial celebrado en Palencia. Hasta allí se desplazaron un total de diecisiete de nuestros deportistas, un número considerable que nos ha permitido alcanzar el tercer puesto por clubes, detrás del ADZ Iberdrola Zamora y el Club Palentino, lo que nos augura una buena temporada teniendo en cuenta que el año pasado solo fueron dos los miembros del Cisne que tomaron parte en esta regata.
La primera de nuestras salidas fue la de damas K1 sénior, sub23, juveniles y cadetes, con Laura Blasco, Cristina San Juan, Cristina Franco y la mundialista Patricia Coco representando nuestro equipo. Cristina San Juan se subió a lo más alto del podio en categoría juvenil, Cristina Franco fue 5ª en sub23 y Laura Blasco obtuvo el 4 puesto absoluto. Por su parte, Patry Coco se alzó con la 2ª posición en dama absoluta
Cinco minutos después, se daba la salida a los canoístas, modalidad en la que participaba Héctor Rebollo y en la que lograba también una meritoria plata.
Más tarde sería el turno de los juveniles. Azael Vega tuvo mala suerte y su timón fue roto por un rival nada más dar la salida, impidiéndole remar la carrera. No mejor suerte tuvo Carlos Fernández, que volcó. David Bernabé, tras un mal comienzo, fue remontando hasta conseguir la 5ª posición. Finalmente, Álvaro García y Alberto Vega se alzaron con un 13º y 15º puesto, respectivamente.
Como broche final a la jornada, se dio la salida de los hombres sénior y sub23. El campeón del Sella y del Mundo Luis Medrano resultó ser nuestro piragüista más fuerte y logró una 6ª posición absoluta y la 2ª como veterano. Fran López no pudo revalidar su título de subcampeón absoluto del Provincial del año pasado y tuvo que conformarse con un discreto 16º puesto. Nuestro presidente Germán Sierra fue 22º y Roman Arnold 34º después de volcar en la primera vuelta. En categoría sub23, David del Cerro fue 6º, Víctor Martín 10º y Sergio de la Fuente 15º.
En definitiva, unos buenos resultados para el Club Cisne el año de su cincuentenario de cara al Autonómico de Invierno del próximo domingo y al Campeonato de España que se celebrará en Sevilla en tres semanas escasas, regatas con las que sin duda el Club Cisne seguirá cosechando éxitos y haciendo historia en el deporte vallisoletano.

Today, I went to the beachfront with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear."
